On Thanksgiving Eve, current Junior and Senior Prep Ice Hawks met Alumni Ice Hawks in the 2nd annual Alumni game. Building on the prior year event, the game was preceded by a 3 on 3 Frozen Turkey Cross Ice Tournament for current Prep players. The Alumni game tipped off around 5:15 PM with some of the former players still stuck in Thanksgiving Eve traffic and others on injured reserve. The alumni started the game with only two reseves on the bench but built to four subs before the first period was over. The current Juniors and Seniors scored early on the Alumni who were still showing the effects of making their way through the traffic. Alumni making it ther for the start of the game were Mike Ostrander (2006), Joe Kadlac (JV coach 2002 - 2004), Mark Rienzi (2004), Paul Bonhage (2005), Sean Guenther (2004), Joe Gldschmidt (2005), Sean O'Brien (2005) and Kevin Brett (2004). On Injured reserve but cheering on ther fellow alumni were John Kupcha (2006) and Dan O'Brien (2006). Arriving into the first period were JP Colussi (2005) and Mike WInton (2005). The game was a spirited affiar but the Alumni found themselves down 7 - 2 going into the final period. The Alumni found their second (or third) wind to win the third period but were still behind on the scoreboard by a score of 8 - 5. The alumni had to pass the alumni cup to the current team but this year's Seniors told Coach Austin that it will be the last cup that the current players will ever win. The night capped off with a dinner of Hoagies, Pizza and Gatorade for all and with everyone in attendance already anticipating next years game.
